This is a good list because it has a lot of heart to it. 'Sullivan's Travels' is a seriously underrated film. It contains one of my favorite scenes in all of cinema when the prisoners shuffle into the church to 'Go Down Moses' and then ensuing laughter a few minutes later watching the cartoons. 'Superman: The Movie' is also an interesting choice. I just showed this to one of my friends who had never seen it. The sense of loss and anger mustered by Christopher Reeve when he's holding Margot Kidder is another amazing piece of cinema. 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture' pales in comparison to the layers of drama in 'Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan'; this movie is kryptonite for me... if it is on, I must watch it. It's visually rich (costumes, sets, effects, cinematography, etc.), but it's ultimately a film that taught me about sacrifice. Confession: I've never seen 'School of Rock', but now I'll need to based on it making a list created by Alan.

Thanks Jon, great to see it got a reaction out of you! I agree about Wrath of Khan, but my uncle started me on the original, then we saw that one the following year. My dad took me to the art movies, but if I'm being honest it was the entertainment that got me interested in the first place! But I guess that's what college and teachers like Jill are for, to help us expand our understanding and taste.

Def check out School of Rock when you're looking for a feel good watch, it's Jack Black at his best. Due to the kids, I had to endure his moronic songs in Minecraft and Super Mario Bros., so I'm still trying to get those out of my head. This one is much better - he's feeding off his true love of rock.

Amadeus is also one of my favorites, the performances are so good! One of my other top picks would be the original 1979 muppet movie lol

I love the Muppet movie too! That must have been my introduction to 4th wall breaking, but I didn’t know I was supposed to be shocked, ha ha

The songs are great. They drive a Studebaker. What’s more to want. Thanks for reading!
